Everything you need to know about MailVeri email verification.
General Questions
What is email verification?
Email verification is the process of checking if an email address is valid, exists, and can receive messages. It helps you maintain a clean email list by removing invalid, disposable, and risky email addresses before you send marketing campaigns or transactional emails.
What is the meaning of each status in the report?
Each email is categorized with one of the following statuses:
- VALID – Email exists and can receive messages safely
- INVALID – Mailbox does not exist or is disabled
- DISPOSABLE – Temporary email address that will be deleted
- ROLE_ACCOUNT – Role-based email (info@, support@, admin@)
- CATCH_ALL – Domain accepts all emails but may not deliver
- FULL_INBOX – Mailbox is full and cannot receive messages
- UNKNOWN – Could not verify, try again later
What file types do you support for bulk upload?
We support multiple file formats for bulk email verification:
- CSV – Comma-separated values files
- Excel – .xlsx and .xls spreadsheet files
- TXT – Plain text files with one email per line
Files from popular platforms like Apollo.io, HubSpot, and Mailchimp work seamlessly.
How long does verification take?
Single email verification typically completes in under 1 second. For bulk lists, processing time depends on the size: 10,000 emails complete in about 5 minutes, while 100,000 emails take approximately 30 minutes. You'll receive real-time progress updates in your dashboard.
Do you send any emails during verification?
No, we never send any emails to verify addresses. Our verification process checks if a mailbox exists without delivering any message. This ensures zero impact on your sending reputation.
How often should I re-verify my email list?
We recommend re-verifying your email list every 3-6 months, or before any major email campaign. Email addresses can become invalid due to people changing jobs, abandoning accounts, or domains expiring. Regular verification keeps your bounce rates low.
What is a catch-all server?
A catch-all server is configured to accept all emails sent to a domain, regardless of whether the specific mailbox exists. These are risky because they often don't bounce immediately but can damage reputation later. MailVeri identifies these as CATCH_ALL so you can decide whether to keep or remove them.
What is greylisting?
Greylisting is a spam prevention method where a mail server temporarily rejects emails from unknown senders, asking them to retry later. MailVeri's advanced algorithms handle greylisting automatically by retrying verification at appropriate intervals.
Can you verify Yahoo, Hotmail, and Outlook addresses?
Yes, we verify all major email providers including Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, iCloud, AOL, and ProtonMail with 99% deliverability rate.
Free Tools
Are the free tools really free?
Yes, our Email Checker, MX Lookup, and Domain Reputation tools are completely free to use directly on our website without creating an account.
Do you save the emails I check in the free tools?
We respect your privacy. For single email verification, we temporarily keep the last 10 emails for display purposes only. Uploaded email lists and verification results are automatically deleted after 30 days, or you can manually delete them anytime from your dashboard.
How is domain reputation calculated?
Our domain reputation score combines multiple factors including MX record validity, presence on blacklists (RBLs), domain age, and historical sending behavior to give you a trust score from 0-100.
What is the limit for the free tools?
The web-based free tools have a generous daily limit to prevent abuse. For higher volume or API access, we recommend creating a free account which gives you 1,000 credits to start.
Credits & Billing
Do credits expire?
No, your credits never expire! Unlike subscription plans that reset monthly, our credits remain in your account indefinitely. Use them at your own pace without any pressure.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and PayPal. All payments are processed securely. Enterprise customers can request invoice-based payment via bank transfer.
Can I get a refund?
Since we provide 1,000 free credits for every new account to test our service quality and accuracy thoroughly before purchasing, we maintain a no-refund policy on all credit purchases. We encourage you to use your free credits to ensure our service meets your needs.
How do credits work?
1 credit = 1 email verification. Credits are only deducted for successful verifications that return a definitive result. Failed verifications or UNKNOWN results are not charged.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes! Our pricing is tiered based on volume. The more credits you purchase, the lower the cost per verification. For example, 100,000 credits cost $0.002 per email, while 1,000 credits cost $0.005 per email.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! Every new account receives 1,000 free credits upon signup. No credit card required.
Do you offer monthly subscriptions?
We operate primarily on a pay-as-you-go model so you never lose unused credits. However, we do offer auto-recharge options for high-volume users who want to ensure they never run out.
Can I get an invoice for my purchase?
Yes, invoices are automatically generated for every purchase and are available for download in the Billing section of your dashboard.

Our REST API works with any programming language that can make HTTP requests. We provide code examples for cURL, Python, Node.js, PHP, Ruby, and Go.

Do you offer webhooks?
Yes! You can configure webhook URLs to receive notifications when bulk verification jobs complete. This allows for asynchronous processing of large lists without polling our API.
How do I get an API key?
After creating an account, navigate to the API section in your dashboard. You can generate, view, and manage your API keys there.
Security & Privacy
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Our infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud providers with SOC 2 compliance. We undergo regular security audits.
How long do you keep my uploaded data?
We automatically delete uploaded email lists and verification results after 30 days. You can also manually delete your data at any time from your dashboard. We never share or sell your data to third parties.
Are you GDPR compliant?
Yes, MailVeri is fully GDPR compliant. We process data only for the purposes you specify, implement appropriate security measures, and provide data deletion upon request. We can also sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for enterprise customers.
Do you sell or share my email lists?
Never. Your email lists are yours alone. We don't share, sell, or use your data for any purpose other than verification. Our business model is based on verification credits, not data monetization.
Where are your servers located?
Our infrastructure is distributed globally for speed and redundancy, with primary data processing occurring in secure data centers in the US and EU, depending on your account region settings.
